Fulda Gap FTW
It is our biggest game of the year and it has over 500 players and will be in October. It will be a weekend event so we need to plan now to get as many people as possible going.

Re: Fulda Gap FTW
We should see about the truck idea. If each vehicle can carry six we should be good.

Re: Fulda Gap FTW
I am about to post up what we will have against us.
In the comming months I will be putting together an artillery battalion for Fulda 2011. This group will be provided with at least two 155mm Howitzer field canon replicas, one self-propelled 155mm Howitzer and four 80mm field mortars, range finders and vehicles to transport the field guns. Vehicle drivers will be provided either by Ferg, or by me and trained by Ferg's group at CDWC.
The group will need to be trained on the use and upkeep of these new weapons, as well as safety and basic artillery tactics. I will need a veteran as the units commander, and the fire teams should be made up of (at least half) established airsofters who are willing to go the whole 9 yards as an artillery group. If you are the "gee I'm a little bored...I think I'll wander off and look for some action" kind of player...then this is not the assignment for you.
BASICS:
Mobile Self-Propelled 155mm Howitzer- Golf cart based enclosed cab vehicle with a 4" air powered canon on the rear.(3 man team)
Canon- HPA powered firing Nerf "Howler" full size rounds.
Steel expansion chamber and manually fired.
Breech loaded.
Range - +200 yds.
Vehicle- electric golf cart with net-and-frame enclosed crew area.(will NOT count as a "tank" against our armor total due to no self-defense capabilities. High AOA firing only)
155mm Howitzer field gun - wheeled replica at 1/2 scale.
Canon - HPA powered firing Nerf "Howler" full size rounds.(2-3 man team)
Range - +200 yds
80mm field mortars- man portable (2 man team).
HPA or C02 powered drop-loaded, firing 2 inch mini Vortex rounds.
Range - +100 yds
The 155's are done design-wise and parts are being procured. The golf cart is in bad shape and being refurbished. I dont expect all of this equipment to be finished before say...mid summer. Training will be done at Wolf Creek, with at least one training session happening at CDWC sometime in the fall before Fulda.
I would prefer a recognized team, or part of one...to take this assignment, but I am willing to traing crews made up from various volunteers. Due to the sophisticaion of the equipment, the inherent safety concerns and the dedication required for this assignment, no one under 18 will be considered unless they are part of a recognized team and have a team leader who will vouch for them.
Anyone interested cam PM me or post up questions here.
